PW: Avalon Hurst V.2

I attempted Phoenix Wright style again. It shits on my first attempt. I referenced the face from a picture of Ema Skye, though.

Time for a not-so-brief Biography:

Name: Avalon Hurst / Yasu Kasumi 安 霞

Alias: None

Personality: Avalon appears a very calm character, with a sense of grace and a subtle splendor. In truth, she has quite the temper and doesn’t take well to agitation of any sorts, often combating it with a quick tongue and sarcastic attitude, but all the while conducts herself in a sophisticated mannerism (although it doesn’t always work).

Avalon also has a crafty sense of humor, of which is often displayed through sarcasm or blunt jokes.

However, in court, Avalon’s personality takes a slight change in tone. She became a prosecutor for the soul purpose to punish criminals with the utmost power and brute force of the law, believing none should be shown mercy. As such, this is displayed within her attitude in court.
Although Avalon keeps about her a calm tone, she is ruthless with words and merciless in actions; all-in-all intimidating and brutal, even to the defense themselves. -Her tactics in court are to break people, and she does it well.

Gifted with a quick mind and creative tongue, she is often able to exaggerate the case on her behalf in a subtle manner, and in doing so persuade the courts to show even less lenience and for the jury to turn sour against the defense’s appeal.

Because of this unforgiving attitude toward criminals, Avalon found herself distraught when Kristoph Gavin was brought to justice over the murder of Shady Smith. To deal with it, she fell into denial about Kristoph’s corrupt side, and such denial forever irks her best friend and close work- colleague, Detective Roxanne Peb’Elles.

Friends And Family: Avalon’s closest friend is also her closest work-colleague, Detective Roxanne Peb’Elles – the two have known each other prior to the main storyline.

Avalon also has a close, and somewhat intimate, relationship with Kristoph Gavin. After the GS4 series, she mothers his child, Kasimir, and later marries him when he is granted bail.

Through a relationship with Kristoph, she has a close and supportive friendship with Klavier Gavin, his younger brother.

She is also somewhat friendly to both Edgeworth and Detective Gumshoe, knowing both through work also.

Nothing is known about Avalon’s family, but it is presumed she has parents.

Story/Background: Avalon became a fully-qualified prosecutor at the young age of 22, just before Phoenix became a defense attorney. Beside the main GS1 storyline, Avalon had her own cases in which Detective Peb’Elles assisted her. During such a year, she earned a reputation for herself as a ruthless and merciless prosecutor (most, who hadn’t seen her in court, often found this hard to believe).

Late GS2/Early GS3, Avalon met with Kristoph Gavin (of whom had recently become a defense attorney) and thus, their relationship began from there.

Avalon’s main story focuses around GS4 where, at the beginning of the series, she becomes distraught to find Kristoph found guilty for the murder of Shadi Smith. Due to this, she goes into withdrawal.

She later makes a reappearance. Having rethought her reasons for prosecuting, Avalon then becomes a defense attorney (although holds a grudge against both Apollo Justice and Phoenix Wright). However, she cannot uphold her new job for long; after discovering she’s pregnant, she’s forced to take maternity leave.

Avalon then mothers Kristoph Gavin’s son, Kasimir Gavin. Once Kristoph is granted early bail (which both Avalon and Klavier appeal for), the two wed.

Misc Facts: Avalon tallies up the number of times she makes people cry in court, just for her own silly satisfaction.

Throughout the years of GS1 and 2, she had feelings for Miles Edgeworth, only to then find out her friend, Detective Peb’Elles, had them too. The two often held their own competitions to see who got the Prosecutor’s attention first. However, Avalon was quick to lose all interest when Kristoph Gavin made an appearance.

Being close to Klavier due to both work and relationship with his elder brother, he brings it upon himself to tease Avalon by calling her either “Mrs Gavin” or, most commonly, “big sister”.
